Parties, Boosters and Bitches, oh my!

I don't know why I haven't written lately. I have been busy, but not too busy to write. But let me try to get up to speed:

Jamie's Birthday Party: I had the most fun that I can recall in recent memory. We all had a great time, especially Jamie and I. We sat and talked, listened to music, and later, watched the movie "Drive Me Crazy" (chick flick). Jamie was laying in my lap during this whole time. It was great. I also had a nice conversation with Carly about Jamie and how I felt about her. I was supposed to leave at 10. I asked Jamie to walk me outside, which she did. We stood on the porch alone and just held each other. I told her that I had a great time. She started to laugh. I asked why. She said that she "always falls for guys named Chris." This took me by surprise. Because of this, the only thing I could gather to say was, "does that mean that you've fallen for me?" She said yes. I told her that this put a damper in my plans because I wasn't planning on asking her out until the following night at Boosters. She said it was my choice. So I asked her out then and there. She said yes. Then we kissed (knowing that Carly and Jamie's friend Angela were watching us); it didn't work very well because I was nervous about being watched. So I told Jamie that we should give it a second shot. She obliged and this time it was great!!! We held each other a little longer and I finally said goodbye. On the way home, I was so happy I could hardly drive. I thought that this was the best night of my life, and it was. Until …

Boosters: I picked Jamie up at 6. She looked absolutely stunning. She wore this semi-see thru blue dress that she made. It was fantastic. I handed her a rose, posed for some pictures from her mom, met her dad, and we were off.

Dinner: We went to Fazoli's and met Michelle, Buffy and Kevin, and Dan (Brake) and Kristine. At this point, only Buffy and Kevin knew that Jamie and I were dating. We got through dinner, which was no easy task because Jamie and I were "out of the loop" from Buffy and Michelle's little clique. But it was okay. I was there only for Jamie.

The Dance: Jamie and I had a great time, dancing and talking. Dan (Richling) even came to the dance and hung out with us. Slow dancing with her was the best feeling in the world, especially when we kissed at the end. The only "snafu" was when I had to go to the restroom: When I came back, Jamie was dancing with Dan Brake. And when I approached them, Dan told me to "go back to the mop closet" in his most serious tone. Jamie just kept dancing with him. So I let them dance and went to talk to Dan R. Jamie came up to me later and told me she was sorry. Apparently, she didn't hear what Dan had said, and she apologized for ditching me.

Sidebar: Jamie and I had discussed the fact that Dan (Brake) liked her before. He had been seriously hitting on her during tech. She said that I was wrong, but even if he did, it didn't matter because she had me. I found out after Boosters that Juice and Dan B. had the plan to hook Dan up at Boosters. As his date, Kristine was just a cover. He was going for Jamie. This was, of course, before he knew that Jamie and I had hooked up the night before. But it was all good. By the end of Boosters, he had hooked up with a girl named Natalie. Jamie and I spied on them — dancing outside with no music. It was cute.

After The Dance: I took Jamie home at about 11:15. When we got to her house, we just sat in my car and talked — until 12:30! This was great. That's one thing about Jamie — I can talk to her about anything, and she can do the same with me.

So far, so good…

That Sunday: I took Jamie to see the Rocky Mountain Youth Orchestra at the Lincoln Center that evening. When we got to her house, her parents weren't home. So she invited me in. We just sat on the couch with the lights dimmed, kissed and talked. We talked about how we thought that we were perfect for each other. It was great … until her parents came home. Her dad was a little mad about me being there, but it was okay.

Since Then …

We've all been real busy prepping for "Greater Tuna." I thought that Jamie almost broke up with me on Thursday night. She said that things were moving too fast, which they were — earlier that day, we told each other that we were falling in love with each other. I took this as "breaking up." She felt so bad that, during the show, she left the light booth and didn't return. I felt very bad, too, because I really wanted this to work, and I didn't want to push her away. She called me on Friday and told me that she didn't want to break up with me, that what she said came out totally wrong. She said that the only thing she wanted was for us to not be affectionate in public until she feels comfortable. I said okay.

Opening Night of "Greater Tuna" was last night. The show was phenomenal. After the show, Dan Brake had a cast party at his house. The party was AWESOME!!! We had a live DJ, glowsticks and great music. The only thing was that Jamie completely ignored me. I asked her if she was mad, and she said no. She said that she didn't see her friends very often, and that she didn't mean to ignore me. I said it was okay. Unfortunately, she had to leave the party at 11:30.

Today, Jamie called me. She said that she didn't sleep at all last night because she had been "such a bitch to me." I told her that it really was okay. She said that she felt really bad, and asked me why I put up with her. I told her that it was because I want to. Also, I think she's is worth it. She is scared that I might become possessive of her, because of what many others have told her. I told her that there was no way I would do that. I just need to exercise self-control. But, things are cool.

I really really don't want to screw this up. She is the best girlfriend I have ever had. We're honest with each other, and we love spending time with each other. Please, Lord, give me the strength, control, and courage to make this work.

Another show of "Greater Tuna" tonight. Whoo-hoo!
