So, the weekend has been up and down… Here's an attempt to re-live the rollercoaster:
Saturday
Megan came to pick me up at about 1pm, after her hockey game (which she won, by the way!). And then we were off to Greeley. On the way there, I called the guy at KIA and he kept jerking me around, saying: "Sure, come down and we'll work on something."
Right.
Anyway, so we went over to JD Byrider and checked out their selection (at the request of my parents). Lo and behold, there was the same purple Chevy Cavelier that we saw in Fort Collins!
So we looked around, and I didn't see anything that I really liked. Megan pointed out a newer Honda Civic, but I passed it off because it was red (not my favorite color).
We thought there was another JD Byrider dealership in Greeley, so we went to find that — only to find out that the dealership no longer (or never) existed. So we went back to the other place and looked at the Civic… and then the salesman (Tom) came out to talk to us. He gave us the keys and told me to take it for a test drive.
It drove awesome! It was a stick, which wasn't my preference, but it was still cool. It had a black leather interior, in great condition, and a nice stereo.
When we got back to the dealership, he ran my credit and I filled out the application. I had $500 to put down on the car. The only problem was that for the Civic, they wanted $700 down.
So he offered this shitty blue 1990 Civic to me for $500 down. We test drove it to Subway, and I hated it. So Megan told me that she would lend me the other $200 to put down on the good car. Then we got into a bit of a fight…
She said that I never let her be generous, and then I got shitty by saying that I didn't let her because she throws it back in her face. Both of us got upset, and we left Subway that way.
Outside, I told her that I was sorry and that I was taking a lot of my stress out on her. Eventually, we agreed that if she wanted to help me with it, she could.
We got back to the dealership and called the bank to see exactly how much money we had in our respective accounts. Then Tom came back outside and told me that he spoke with his manager, and was told that I could get the Civic for $500 down!
I was so excited, I jumped for Joyce!
After signing about a million papers, I am now $500 poorer, but more importantly, I am the new owner of a 1992 Honda Civic!
We drove back home from Greeley, and after taking the new car for a spin, we spent the evening watching From Dusk Till Dawn and eating ice cream. Very nice…
Sunday
Today has been a pretty bland day. Megan's been busy all day doing college and conference stuff, so I've been hanging out.
On another note, the U.S. has began bombing sites in Afghanistan. I'm not sure right now what my position on the war-to-come is, but I did feel compelled to post this entry earlier today.
My uncle Joe and his family came over for a while this evening and we talked computer stuff for a while.
I called Jake after my uncle left, and then I drove over to his house to go crusing for a while. We talked about some stuff and just hung out. Then I drove home. Nice night for a cruise.
I get to sleep in tomorrow… yes!
