Protected: An Unsent Letter To A Friend

Dearest Megan,

I know you're going through a rough time, and feel like things will never get any better. And I wish I had some help for you, to make things easier, or better, or bearable. But I don't.

All I can say is that things will get better. Whether you believe that statement or not doesn't disprove its validity. Yes, what you're doing and how you're feeling is difficult. I know it is. But what you can't do is just give up and say, "Fuck it" to the world. You're selling yourself short if you do that.

I care about you greatly. First as a friend, then a girlfriend, and nowagaina friend. I love you, and I hate to see you hurting, especially when I know there's nothing I can do to make it better.

One thing, though: You're not going to make me go away by being unpleasant. I'm used to itand I'm not going anywhere. I care about you way too much to let you go now. So please, don't push me away from you. I know you think that you're going through it alone, so it doesn't matter. But it does matter, and you're not aloneit only feels like you are.

I'm here for you, Megan. Never forget that.

Love,
Chris
