Small Universe

I haven't written in quite some time, I know that.

Last Monday, I got a call from Jeremy at the office, who wanted to know how hard it would be to develop a website for Troma Team Video, to use for US sales clients.

"Not that hard," I replied. "I can put something together. What kind of timeframe are we looking at? Just don't tell me it has to be ready for Cannes," (which started this week).
"Michael [Herz, Troma co-founder and Vice President] wants something by Cannes."
"Shit."

So, for over a week, I've been engrossed in developing this goddamn site day in, day out. That it required me to code a mysql-driven dynamic site from the ground-up is hard enough, being that I don't know mysql very well; but that combined with tons of repetitive data entry was enough to bring back the good 'ol brain tumor. So I took a break and went to Nate's for HALO, which, even though I'm terrible at that game, was a nice mini-vacation.

With regards to other happenings in my small universe, the girl I wrote about in the previous entry has a new boy-toy, so nuts to that. I suppose I'm a bit more upset about that than I should be. Even though we quickly established what things were, I guess I didn't give much thought to what things weren't. I can selectively ignore face-value sometimes.…It was worth a shot, though. Now I can cross it off my to-do list. ;)

We had a party last Saturday nite, which went fairly well, with the exception of some kid who came in, threatened to kick everyone's ass, and quickly thereafter stole our keg. I suppose these things happen. I was passed out by 1am, right when things started getting interesting. Made no difference to me, though, as it was the best sleep I've had in weeks.

We're going to do it again sometime soon…sometime when I can actually stay awake for the festivities, lol. I wished I had stayed awake, there were a couple of people (one in particular) who I wanted to spend more time with, but again, these things happen.

I've decided, perhaps against better judgment, and certainly perhaps others' wishes, to halt production of BLACK BALLOON. To be perfectly honest, I don't know why. A friend asked, "Well darn. What happened? New distractions?" No, not really. Who knows… The reasons will come to me at some point, but not now.

On the brighter side of things, Indi sent me some candles he made for me, and they smell absolutely heavenly! I'd make him something, if I knew how to make anything, that is.

Indi's homemade candles!

P.S. Kylie Minogue rules!
