Return

Last October, I made a decision to temporarily close Retrospecticus, with the original intention being to clear up some time and energy that I desperately felt I needed to focus elsewhere. At the time, I didn't exactly realize how precious that time and energy would become, but I'm glad that I made the decision.

In the span of three months, I designed and programmed an entirely new online store, I also co-programmed and directed a film festival, negotiated a job transfer, and physically re-located my apartment.

Yeah, the last few months have been busy.

And now that I have a bit of time for myself, it feels appropriate to bring Retro back. There are a lot of changes under the hood, but that's a discussion for another time, I think. In the mean time, much upon much has happened in the last several months and if I can possibly remember them all, I'll try to include them here in some form.

When I upgraded WordPress the other day, I logged in and realized that I had a pending entry — the last of my dragon*con 2004 recaps. Looking at what I wrote months ago just this evening, I realized that while what was written happened, the contents of that entry didn't even begin to document the important things: the conversations had, the lessons learned, the alcohol consumed. So I scrapped that entry, as I'm sure the tale will be told at some point when I'm actually ready to tell it. But like I said, in the interim, there's plenty more to talk about.

I missed my little corner of the web. It looks (almost) just like I left it.

Time for some Spring cleaning, bitches.

    Dear Bitch:

You should leave a forwarding address, or at least drop a postcard when you come back online. ;)
