Up until this last year, I was actu­ally able to keep up with all the merg­ers and stuff. I could tell you exactly where all 7 of the baby Bells had gone. It's gone so far now, though, that I have to con­sult the Inter­web to remember.

Colbert's _almost_ right. It's not quite _all_ AT&T again, but it's likely to be AT&T and Ver­i­zon before it's all over with. I think US West (now Qwest) is the last baby Bell not part of one of those two companies.
