Ninety percent

Well, it's been a month.

Things got off to a hefty start, what with working dragon*con and all. I've given anyone who asked about the experience some version of the same response: "It was fun, but tiring." When I returned home from Atlanta, I very quickly came down with a case of the 'con crud, which wreaked havoc throughout my lungs for the better part of two weeks.

Shut-Out

For the past couple of days, I've been going to dealerships to look for a new car. Yesterday, I went to two and they both either turned me down or wanted a $5000 down payment! They say that because I'm so young, I have no credit. But I can't get any credit because I'm so young.

Now let's think about this: How in the hell am I supposed to be able to establish credit if I can't get anyone to lend to me???? Does this sound stupid to anyone else?!

After work today, I went to another dealership, and they told me the same thing. God, this is so frustrating! But something will pan out … [gulp] … I hope.

[Changing gears.]

My actual day at work wasn't too bad. I got to work at about 6:30am, and I looked around on the internet for a while. Work actually seemed to fly by today … which is good.

After hockey practice, Megan came and picked me up so she could go to OpenStage with me. It's so much better having her there … I really wish she was there every night. But I'm *definitely* thankful for the time she is there, that's for sure.

We actually had to leave early from rehearsal because she had to be home at 10:30, so she came and stayed for a few minutes before she had to go home.

Ah, time to retire for the day.

[edit: addition]

Oh, something I forgot to mention yesterday: After months of downtime, chrislanphear.com is now again available at www.chrislanphear.com.

I *do* pay my bills, even if it's in the subsequent year … ;)

Another Manic Monday …

From Yesterday: Well, my aunt called me last night at about 9:30 to tell me that she was still two hours away from home, and that I should go home if I could get a ride. So I called my mom and she came and took me home …

As far as today goes, Mondays are always easy. Be that as it may, the ASP staff had to have a meeting because one of the paraprofessionals I work with has problems with many staff in the program, most of all: me.

So we had to have our boss's boss come in and "mediate" our "discussion". Anyway, nothing was solved, but Nathan and I got some things off of our chests. So I guess we'll just have to wait and see …

OpenStage was as fun as ever … yeah, that's all I've got to say about that.

Week in a Box

Well, not too much has happened this week, at least that's out of the ordinary …

Megan's Field Hockey team actually won a game, 2–0! I was so proud of her …

After the game, Jake locked his keys in his car, and Megan and I took him to get his spare. After we took him back to Preston (where the game was), we left so Megan could take me to get my car (I was already late for OpenStage rehearsal). She was upset because she wanted to spend the evening with me, and that had been "ruined" because of what had happened with Jake. I got *extremely* pissed, and I started really yelling at her …

Let's just say that it wasn't good. Anyway, we got to Rocky and talked for a while, straightened things out, and went to rehearsal together. Richard was fine with my being late, so everything was cool …

Sidebar: For a while, Megan has been telling me that she's gonna quit Rocky theatre because she's tired of the treatment there … which I both support and oppose. It's been weird, because I'm glad that she would quit — that means that we'll be able to spend more time together. On the flip side, I'm sad for her because I know that it's something she really loves to do.

So, during rehearsal, she told me that she was reading the script for "The Curious Savage," the play that RMHS is doing this spring, and that she was going to do a set design for it as part of her portfolio for the Thespian Conference. I said, "I told you so," because I knew from the onset that she wouldn't really quit theatre. So, after rehearsal, we got into a fight because of it. We sat in the car, and I told her why I felt the way I did. Basically: I'm having a hard time dealing with the failure that has been my participation in Rocky theatre, and part of it is because of her.

We talked about it for a while, and came to the resolution (of sorts) that things would get better. It's just that failing at anything is *very* hard for me to deal with, so it's gonna take some time.

Aside from that, it's been a pretty mild week. Megan and I are still fighting off and on, and hopefully, it will pass …

Jake's coming over in a little bit, and then we're gonna go to the game with Megan. Let's hope the weekend goes better than the week.

All The Eggs in One Basket

[ Author's Note: For convenience's sake, I have taken the events of the past few weeks and summarized them into this one entry. Reason for this being that if I continue to update backlogged entries, I will never keep up. So here goes … ]

· I had a "confrontation" with Parker and she barred me from helping with Rocky Theatre. This has been causing some tension between Megan and I, and we're dealing with it as best we can … Also, Megan has said that she's quitting theatre after "Fiddler on the Roof" because of the constant Chris-bashing.

· I got my car back. I'm now $400 poorer.

· I've been sick for the past week and a half. It's been lots of fun.

· Megan and I have been fighting about *everything* lately. We're dealing with things as they come … I don't want to lose her, which is why the fighting is worth it.

· I had a quasi-fight with Amy and Natalie because they say that Megan doesn't spend time with them anymore … and I've been making Megan feel bad any time that she isn't with me. I'm working on not being so selfish.

· My mom is still a bitch.

· On September 11, the worst disaster in probably my whole generation struck when the twin towers of the World Trade Center were hit by hijacked airplanes and subsequently crumbled, killing thousands. Click here to find out how you can help.

· We've been trying to hook Jake up with Joanne, one of Megan's friends, and we've had little success.

· Megan celebrated her 17th birthday on September 3rd with a party at Rolland Moore Park. My plans for her birthday were put on hold because of it, and now I get to save them for her big 18!

· I have been hired on with OpenStage Theatre & Company as an Assistant Director for the show, "The Hot L Baltimore," which premieres at the Lincoln Center on October 21, 2001.

· My Uncle Joe broke his leg.

Yeah, that just about covers it.

We now resume your regularly scheduled programming.

I Am Batman!

Today at lunch, I dawned my Batman attire in front of all of our friends. It was kinda fun … There's even this little gun that shoots foam darts that came with it.

Everyone had a good time trying it on and playing with the toys. Good time was had by all …

Today, the auditorium was destroyed in order to renovate it for next school year. It's about frickin' time is all I can say. That auditorium packs more people in it than any other high school in Fort Collins (the 2 that there are) and it deserves to be up to today's standards … Anyway, the seats are being removed so that they can be reupholstered and all of the carpet is being replaced. Goodbye puke green crap!

Whilst inside there taking pictures of the ruins with Megan, I badgered her into showing me her thong. Heh … it was fun.

That's about it for today.
