[Clumsy Custard Horror Show] 1000 Percent Better!

The show couldn't have gone better tonight … Actors were in top form … Tech didn't suck … All in all, a good night.

Tomorrow will be my last show as a student at Rocky (hopefully, if I graduate). To be honest, I'm really sad. I've decided not to be involved in One Acts so I can concentrate on at least making an attempt to graduate. Theater has been the greatest gift given to me in high school, and I'm very very sorry to see it go. But other things demand my attention … now only if I can actually do it …

[Clumsy Custard Horror Show] Embarassment

Opening night of The Clumsy Custard Horror Show… what a complete disaster. The acting was pretty good, but the tech was horrible. Basically everything that could have gone wrong … well … did.

After the show, Parker ripped the crew … and especially me, a new one. We told her that we would fix things … but she said that we embarassed ourselves … lots of fun.

Not my day

Right after 2nd hour, Zhanna asked if I could take her somewhere during 3rd hour. I told her that I would be happy to … even though this would be yet another day that I would ditch Brit. Lit. But I didn't care.

A couple of days earlier, I had been talking with Buffy, and I told her that I really wanted to go to Boosters with Zhanna. She told me that she would find out what Zhanna would say if I asked her. During lunch, she told me that Zhanna said she would say no. I tried not to show it, but I was pissed.

3rd hour came. Zhanna found me and told me she was ready to go. I wasn't really talking to her that much. From that, I guess she interpreted that I was mad at her, which I was! It looked to me like she had only seemed interested in me when she needed a ride or something else from me. I, for one, really didn't appreciate being used.

She tried to walk away, and we argued for a few minutes. I did my best to lie my ass off by saying that I wasn't mad at her. It's not that I wanted to lie to her, but I didn't want to make a scene either. She accepted, and I took her to Jessie's house. In the car, she didn't say a word, and I asked her why. She went off on this rant about how I didn't think that Russian people had feelings, and how I was using her! I couldn't believe it … Eventually we got to Jessie's, and she left without saying a word.

Gorillas in Our Midst

The play, though incredibly chaotic, pretty much went off without a hitch. I think that everyone was surprised that we were able to pull it off. It was a nice escape from the earlier events of the day.

After the play, Chres and I decided to go to Jason Michaud's place to chill for a while. When we got there, most everybody was there: Tom, Mikey, and Kevin. Juice and Dan weren't, though. And it appeared that Jason wasn't either. I asked Tom where he was. He said, "he's in his room with the Russian girl." I looked at Chres, and we left. On the way back to Chres's house, I ranted about how pissed I was, and we had a great argument about whether feelings are good or bad. Because of how pissed I was, I ended up crashing at Chres's … Perhaps things will be better tomorrow.

S T R E S S E D !

The majority of the day is a blur to me. But today, the tech lead applications were due for the Clumsy Custard show. On mine, I wrote a note to Parker basically saying that I wanted a higher-up position because I had the experience and knowledge to do so. She has always criticized my nature to freak out over little things and take them out on people. So I added that I would promise to be nice to people.

When I went to go turn the app in, she was in her office. I asked her if she had read my note. She said, "yes, but actions speak louder than words." These words really hurt. Especially coming from a person who I've come to respect greatly. If she was questioning my dedication, then it's a really low blow — I've spent hundreds of hours working for her in the theater. All for nothing. And she dares question my loyalty? I always knew she hated me … this just proves it further.

Later, I had a rather lengthy discussion with Megan. Lots of things came pouring out of me like a cheerleader on a battleship. (What the hell am I talking about?) Anyway, we stayed in the Rocky parking lot, in the freezing cold, until about 10ish. I got her in trouble with her parents because she stayed there with me. Oh shit. Too much tension. Exhausted. Physically. Emotionally. Mentally.

[The Shadow Box] ER — Live!

Closing Night: Five Minutes to Curtain. We're all excited for the show, based on the reaction of last night. The green room is filled with commotion.

At the last minute, Carly, Chres and I go to perform a pre-show ritual. Being as I am, I treat stupid things as if they're the most important thing in the world, so in my haste, I ran through the room — in the dark. I attempted to show off by jumping over a chair. Unfortunately, since it was dark, I couldn't see the frame of the door I was jumping through … or toward.

This wonderful maneuver caused me to hit my head on said frame, whipping my neck, and falling down on my back. There was a fair amount of blood all over the floor. What's funny is that it didn't feel that bad! Everyone was crowded around me, trying to see if I was okay. But seeing as we had about 30 seconds before the show was supposed to start, I told everyone I was fine and rushed them out.

Mrs. Parker sent me to the hospital. Chres drove me. All in all, it wasn't that bad. I received five stitches as a reward for my exploits and then they sent me on my way.

When we arrived at the cast party, it felt like the room stopped. After answering several questions and joking about this fantastic mishap, things returned to normal. After the cast party, a few of us went to Perkins. What fun. Ha!

[The Shadow Box] Opening Night with Zhanna

Tuesday after school, Zhanna had decided that she wanted to go to the play tonight. So I went and got the tickets. For the sake of convenience, I agreed to meet Zhanna, as well as Cali and Nathan at the show at 6:30.

I got to the box office at about 6:35. We all went and sat down. Once there, I realized that Cali's dad had come with them. This was not something I had anticipated. Later, Cali told me that she had notified me that her dad was coming. But either I didn't hear her or didn't care. So, needless to say, I wasn't able to get as cozy with Zhanna as I would've liked to.

But it wasn't a loss. The show was pretty good. I think that Zhanna had a good time. After the show, much of the cast and crew went to Perkins (go figure). I think that I hung out until about 10:30, and then I went home.
